This week we are learning about pipes, which can "pipe" the standard output of one command to the standard input of another. an example can be ls -l /usr/bin | less. you can also use this to put several commands together (filters). an example: ls /bin /usr/bin | sort | less.
Uniq can remove duplicates from the standard input. You can also use pipelines with grep. Grep can find patterns in test and print out patterns. Watch this HakTip for more tips with pipelines!
Next week, pipelines! Like in Mario! But first make sure to email me firstname.lastname@example.org with your thoughts. And be sure to check out our sister show, Hak5 for more great stuff just like this. I'll be there, reminding you to trust your technolust.
