In this pilot episode of Hak.5 we test to see if the speed at which you war drive affects your ability to pick up access points. We also show you how to control your lights from an Internet enabled cell phone, kill remote windows processes, modify the gamecube to enable DVD playback, and custom paint your PC case. Plus a Windows XP installation tip everyone should know.

A new mirror has been donated by a very nice viewer. Also try the torrents again, I’m getting pretty good speeds from the seeders. Thank you SO MUCH seeders!

For those of you looking for season 1, there are a few options. 1, rip them from youtube with various utilities and then convert the flv files, or two, search for the Torrent for the DVD of season 1′s best of with extras. Its not all of season 1, but a high quality and behind the scenes dvd. If I can find mine I’ll try and throw it up on my site, but I have no Idea where it is as the moment.

Congratulations on making it for more than one show. I’ve been watching on-n-off for a few years now, and am really glad to see that you persevered and crafted a show for a targeted audience, however; the way your show spoke to a much broader audience, and I think you all have found that you have reached a new level of success that had you given up, we the free thinking people in this world would have lost out on some of the greatest and some of the worst hacks of all time. Furthermore, you given a nice shine to the tarnished name of Hackers.

In my honest opinion I believe you have made the case for broadening the definition of the word Hack. One could say what you did to the dvd player and the Nintendo Game Cube could be a Verb. e.g. writing a program to keep my files and folders more organized, thus saving time, keeping my drive less fragmented. The point I’m making is the word hack has many different meanings, some carry a bad stain on them, but most uses of the word are actually positive.

Keep up the good work you have going there and enjoy my home state, which I miss very much. Although I grew up pretty far south of the bay area.

    Respectfully yours,

    Bobby.
