Today I am pleased to announce Hak5 Labs, an effort to open source the show. Over the next few weeks we will be holding Hak5 Labs meetings with the goal of crowdsourcing content, open development of large projects and group discussions on every aspect of Hak5 the show and the community.

The first meeting will be held on Monday, September 28th at 8:00 PM Eastern Time (-5 GMT) at https://webmeeting.dimdim.com/portal/JoinFo...on?confKey=hak5

We'll be broadcasting live via Dimdim, sharing segment ideas, answering questions and developing killer new projects.

We encourage you to join us for this first of many future Hak5 Lab events.

See you there!

Aww, I have school then (11AM tuesday here). Would you be able to schedule at least a couple labs meetings for those of us halfway around the world?

Doesn't DimDim let the person hosting the meeting record part or all of a session and download it later as a flash video?

No worries. If Darren will approve, I'll use SnagIt to record and share in AVI format.

I use Camtasia for my capture. It keeps the files small. And it also works better to only record the video area instead of the full screen.

Ummm...I think that's supposed to be Monday, 21 Sep since that's what you said in the latest episode and the 28th isn't a Monday.

I plan on showing up...

Turns out, if you read the calendar correctly the 28th IS a Monday.

Regardless, "Monday the 21st" was said twice on the show as the date.

What the dealie-o?

Yeah, I noticed that they said 21st on the show and the site says 28th, So I'd say go with the site since they have time to think about it and the show is rushed so they could of made a mistake.

It seems as though if dates are involved I'm bound to mess it up. No. No. Yes. No. Yes. The 28th.

Does joining this meeting require a s3krit decoder ring? I'm trying to join now and getting an error that the "room doesn't exist". Meeting rooms *should* be setup at least 30 min early for early arrivers (like myself). At least that's my experience with telephone conferences and Adobe conferencing software.

Someone mentioned "signing up" on the DimDim site. Is that required to get into the conference and if so, where do you do that because I can't see anywhere to accomplish that?
