if you get "file not found please use firefox" and are using firefox try right clicking on the flash bit of pandora and changing the cache so theres enough to cache the whole song

p.s. Flash Switcher allows quick flash v9 to v8 switching https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3649/

I noticed today that Pandora's Mini Index now requests you to update from Flash player 8 if you try to load Pandora's Jar. It doesn't happen if you simply visit pandora.ccom/cmd=?mini ... There is a workaround though, albeit messy and temporary:

(1) Start pandora's Jar, and allow the localhost page to load, with the update message in the frame for Pandora's flash movie

(2) Open a new tab in firefox, and go to http://www.pandora.com/cmd=?mini

(3) From here, you will be able to rip the files in the localhost frame, so long as pandora is running in the other.

IMPORTANT: For this to work, you must load pandora's jar FIRST.

Please post/ let me know if there is a more permanent work around that somebody knows, or if I am being stupid and missing something.

If you get the NoScript firefox addon and disable javascript for pandora.com (but allow localhost:8085 and the other website) then it will block the version checking script and let you through with version 8.

Pandora has done something in the past couple of days to prevent ripping. Follow this thread to view progress on the bug...

http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkCompatibility

oTTo has posted a temporary fix in that thread, but there still isn't a fix.

sag:

If it's not working for you, you either aren't using the latest builds (Beta CF7) and/or haven't done any of the fixes or workarounds mentioned here on the forums repeatedly. Namely, using Flash 8 instead of Flash 9; bypassing the Flash 9 upgrade notice either via the Greasemonkey script, or editing the pluginreg.dat file; and changing the downloadMP3 function name and downloadMP3Response handler name in pandoraGrabber.js and pandoraGrabber.html.

Hey guys, I have watched this thread off and on for a year now and I have tried at intermittent times to get the latest fixes installed and more or less have had success.  I recently had to reformat my machine and so I am starting out fresh and to be honest after looking through the posts from a year+ it is quite confusing as to what the latest fix exactly is, or which build is compatible.  I have been thinking over and over that if someone was interested in Pandora's Jar and came on here, they would have absolutely no idea how to set it up.  Perhaps at this point it may be of value to do a "Here's where we stand" post with all the proper links for someone starting out fresh.  Just of note.
