Hey guys, I have watched this thread off and on for a year now and I have tried at intermittent times to get the latest fixes installed and more or less have had success.  I recently had to reformat my machine and so I am starting out fresh and to be honest after looking through the posts from a year+ it is quite confusing as to what the latest fix exactly is, or which build is compatible.  I have been thinking over and over that if someone was interested in Pandora's Jar and came on here, they would have absolutely no idea how to set it up.  Perhaps at this point it may be of value to do a "Here's where we stand" post with all the proper links for someone starting out fresh.  Just of note.

My feelings exactly, it looks like there is a dozen different versions by a handful of people.
not to mention http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...ckage_id=215021 has a few versions
of it also.. I've done everything... and it still doesn't work.  I have flash 8, Pandora 7.4.0.cf7 along with the bass line
installed.. modifed the downloadmp3response etc... still doesnt work..  doesnt do anything.. when i click grab instead
of manual it tosses file in unclassified and I have to rename no different then taking it from the temp directory,
I can already do that with last.fm,with flash 8, and there online player.... and manual just sits and does nothing..
I'm confused because everything indicates to do this or that, and nothing works. It was working upto about a month
ago...

I have had some problems with this and I followed the top example exactly. Basically I have it installed right and the player runs, but there is no MP3s in C:Pandoramp3 after I listen to songs and I have cruise control set. It says this grabMp3() complete. So I would think its working. I have the latest FF, Windows and Flash player 8. (Is there a way to verify what player you have because I installed my old one and used a link provided in the forum to get FlashPlayer8) Am I looking in the correct directory for the MP3s?

Pardon my euphoria but I am no programmer.

Anyway - by reading this forum and other comments on other boards tons of people were having the same problem - which someone correctly pointed out was a flash issue. BUT - here is how I fixed it.

The Adobe app to remove the current (v9) version of Flash did not work for me - at home it didn't remove v9 and at work it froze 38% of the way through every time I ran it. However, I found a cool extension for Firefox called Flash Switcher that allows me to switch between versions of flash, thus I know I am running v8 and VOILA I am now ripping away.

I installed Flash switcher to further assist my installation of Pandora's Jar for vista; however now I am not able to switch from Flash 8. An error appears

[Exeption..."Component return failure code: 0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_RILE_ACCESS_DENIED) [nsIFile.remove]" nsresult: "0x80520015 (NS_ERROR_FILE_ACCESS_DENIED)" location:"JS frame::chrome://flash_switcher/content/overlay.js::switch_plugin_delay::line220" data: no]

I am stuck with using flash 8. Or is there a new Flash Switcher that is for Windows Vista that works properly compared to the Flash Switcher downloaded from http://www.sephiroth.it/weblog/archives/20...ion_updated.php
???
Thanks...

Today I discovered a simpler way to rip pandora music without using any programs or recording off of the sound card. Here's what you do:

1. Install the DownloadHelper firefox extension.
2. Open a tab with Pandora and play some music.
3. Open ANOTHER tab (something other than Pandora).
4. As long as you are in the other tab and not looking at the Pandora page, you can download the music. The DownloadHelper icon will light up indicating that a file is available. The name of the file will be something like Pandora_Radio_-_Listen_to_Free_Internet_Radio_Find_New_Music-.flv. Just click download and you have the original file from Pandora. You can convert the flv to something else using a website like listentoyoutube.com or a converting program.
5. Note that this will not work if you are looking at the Pandora page, you need to be in another tab. If you go to the Pandora page, the download link will disappear and you will need to wait for another song to start before the link will appear again (and you STILL need to be in another tab).

Hope this helps, I discovered it by accident today and it works great!!

edit: Apparently you can't change tabs or refresh the tab you are on (even if its not Pandora) or the link will go away. I'm sure a greasemonkey script could be written that would take advantage of whatever is allowing this to happen and maybe automate the downloading.
